Friendships Journey Prompt

Writing prompt: Promise

"You swear on your grandma's soul," she asked.

“You swear you won’t tell?” she asked.

“I swear,” I replied.

“You swear on your grandma’s soul?” she asked.

“Which Grandma? I have two, well actually three of them, if you count Auntie Annie, who raised my Grandma Burns after her mother died.” I said.

“No matter,” she replied. “Just pick one.”

“Can I pick my grandpa’s grave instead?” I asked. “I’d feel better about that.”

“Ok,” she said. “Will you just do it already!”

“Yes,” I said. “I swear on my Grandpa Craven’s grave to …”.

“To …?” she prompted.

“Oh shoot, I forgot what I swore to promise,” I replied.

  1. Sounds like a conversation my brother and I could have had as kids. I laughed at the end.
